Lucknow. After questions were raised on the encounter in Sultanpur and Bahraich, the Yogi government of the state has come up with a new guideline. Guidelines have been issued by DGP Prashant Kumar regarding the encounter.
Under this, in case of death or injury in the encounter, it will be necessary to get the scene videographed. Also, if a criminal is killed in an encounter, the postmortem and its videography will also be done by a panel of two doctors. Also, the forensic team will also inspect the scene of the incident.
Not only this, the DGP has said that the police of the area where the encounter took place will not investigate. The investigation will be done by another police station or the crime branch. Officers of a higher level than the officers involved in the encounter will investigate. These instructions have been issued by the DGP to the police captains of all the districts. The DGP said that if a criminal dies in an encounter, the family should be informed immediately. Not only this, separate copies of the videography of the incident spot should be kept as a record.
Akhilesh Yadav had made it an issue
It is worth noting that after the encounter of Mangesh Yadav, who was carrying a bounty of Rs 1 lakh in the Sultanpur robbery case, questions were raised by the Samajwadi Party. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had called the encounter an issue and accused of killing Mangesh Yadav in a fake encounter. He also linked the encounters happening in UP to the PDA. He alleged that the UP police is carrying out fake encounters of PDA people.
