Yamuna Exp Speed Limit: Govt sets speed limit for light and heavy vehicles on Yamuna Expressway, check speed limit

The month of November is being celebrated as ‘Road Safety Month’ by the traffic police, regarding which various awareness programs are being conducted in Noida and Greater Noida.

Awareness programs were organized at Okhla Bird Century Metro Station, Sector 94, Kalindi Kunj and other prominent places on Thursday. Additional speed-controlled drives are also being planned on the Noida Expressway connecting Noida and Greater Noida.

The traffic police issued 150 e-challans within 8 hours from 6:30 am on Thursday while cracking down on speeding vehicles on the Yamuna Expressway. In view of the winter season, security has been increased on this 165.5 km long expressway from Greater Noida to Agra.

Currently, the speed limit on the Yamuna Expressway is 100 km per hour for light vehicles and 80 km per hour for heavy vehicles. This system is implemented due to the lack of visibility in winter.

If you drive too fast, you will be fined

Rs 2,000 on light vehicles and Rs 4,000 on heavy vehicles for violating the speed limit. To ensure safe winter travel, the speed limit may be reduced further between December 15 and February 15, with the speed set to 75 kmph for light vehicles and 60 kmph for heavy vehicles.
