World’s Most Powerful Passports 2025 List Released: Indian Passport Ranks At…

The ranking of the world’s most powerful passports has been released. Henley Global releases this list every year. The formula for deciding the ranking is how many countries a person holding the passport can visit without a visa.

Pakistan is in a bad shape in this list. It has been ranked 103rd along with Yemen. It is worth noting that Yemen is currently battling a civil war. Pakistan’s ranking is worse than North Korea.

Which country’s passport is more powerful?

According to this ranking, the world’s most powerful passport is that of Singapore. Singapore has got the first place in this list. People holding Singapore passport can travel to 195 countries of the world without visa or with the facility of visa on arrival.

If we leave aside 2023, Singapore has been at the top of this list since 2021. However, last year in 2024, it got the first position jointly with France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Spain.

Japan is behind this time

Japan has always given tough competition to Singapore in the ranking of the most powerful passports. This year it has got the second rank. Japanese passport holders can travel to 193 countries without visa or with visa on arrival facility.

In 2024, Japan shared the first place with Singapore and other countries. In 2023, it overtook Singapore to take the first place. In 2022, 2021, it remained at number 1 along with Singapore.

India’s ranking dropped

This time India’s ranking has also slipped by 5 places. India has got 85th place in this list. Whereas last year it was at 80th place. India’s rank was 84 in 2023, 83 in 2022, 90 in 2021, 82 in 2020 and 82 in 2019 as well.

According to this year’s ranking, people holding Indian passports can travel to 57 countries with visa on arrival or without visa. These countries include Angola, Bhutan, Bolivia, Fiji, Haiti, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Mauritius, Qatar, Sri Lanka, etc.

Condition of Neighbouring countries

In the list, Pakistan has got 103rd place, Afghanistan 106th, Nepal 101st, Bangladesh 100th, Sri Lanka 96th, Myanmar 94th and Bhutan 90th place.
