World Cup 2023 Update: India has to host the One Day World Cup (ODI World Cup-2023) this year itself, for which preparations have started.

For this World Cup, 8 teams have been qualified, while which two teams will be decided by the upcoming World Cup qualifier matches. Meanwhile, a big update has come out regarding the schedule of the World Cup. This information has been given by an ICC official.

Team India has been waiting for 12 years

The Indian team has been waiting for 12 years to win the World Cup. Team India won the ODI World Cup in 2011, then the captaincy was handled by veteran Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Now the ODI World Cup is to be played in India’s hosting in October-November. Crores of cricket fans hope that India will end the wait of the last several years. However, whether Team India succeeds or not, it will be known only in this big tournament.

This big update came out

According to ESPN Cricinfo, the ICC CEO has said that I think today (Wednesday) we can get the schedule from the hosts and we also have to negotiate with all the participating teams and broadcasters. He further said that after getting the schedule, we will try to announce it as soon as possible. When we run contests, we work closely with the hosts.

The ICC CEO further said that until I see the schedule, I can say something. I am waiting and I hope to get some update in the next day or two. Our event team is very experienced and has organized cricket events in different countries.

Controversy over playing Pakistan

Rhetoric is also happening from Pakistan’s side regarding the World Cup. Actually, the matter is also related to Asia Cup, Pakistan got the hosting of Asia Cup-2023 this year but BCCI Secretary Jai Shah made it clear that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan to play this tournament. It will be shifted to some other venue.

Later the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that if this happens, then its team will also not come to India to play the World Cup. Till now no official decision has been taken on this matter.
