Less interest is charged on taking a home loan

Exemption in stamp duty too

When anyone buys a house, a lot of paperwork has to be done to buy the house. You have to get the house registered. For this you pay stamp duty. A lot of your money is spent on stamp duty as well. But there are many states in India where women have to pay less stamp duty than men.

If compared, women are generally given a discount of 2 to 3 percent on stamp duty as compared to men. For example, in Delhi, men have to pay 6% stamp duty. Women have to pay only 4% stamp duty which is 2 percent less than men. In Uttar Pradesh, men have to pay 7 percent stamp duty while women have to pay only 5%.
