The Meteorological Department said that a Western Disturbance is still present in Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this, a cyclonic circulation is located over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining north Chhattisgarh, which is spread as a trough from Gangetic West Bengal to northeast Telangana. Due to this, light to heavy rains with thunder, lightning and gusty winds reaching 40 to 50 kmph are likely in the plains of northwest India. Hailstorm and thundershowers are likely in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

The Meteorological Department said that light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds is likely in the northeast and adjoining eastern states for the next 7 days. Light rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds is likely at some places in the plains of central India such as Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Karnataka and Odisha till April 14. Along with this, rain forecast has also been issued in the southern states. An alert has been issued for pre-monsoon rain in Kerala for 6 days.
Which states will receive rain today?
The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Darjeeling and Sikkim till April 14. Along with this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Assam and Meghalaya till April 15. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain in many states of the country today.
