Weather Update: Heavy rain will occur again today, IMD alerts in 15 states including UP-Bihar

The national capital Delhi received heavy rains on Sunday. Due to heavy rains in Delhi-NCR on Sunday afternoon, many areas were waterlogged and traffic was disrupted. This also brought down the temperature and the weather became pleasant. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in the Delhi-NCR region even today.

According to the Meteorological Department, during the next 24 hours, including Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Northeast India, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and South Interior Karnataka may receive light to moderate rain with heavy rains at some places.

Apart from these states, light to moderate rains are possible over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Vidarbha, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka, Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Coastal Maharashtra, East Gujarat and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

How will the weather be in Delhi today?

The Meteorological Department has predicted that light to moderate rainfall may occur in most parts of Delhi on Monday. A yellow alert has also been issued for this. Clouds may remain in circulation throughout the day. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be 33 and 26 degrees respectively. The wind speed may be up to 16 kilometres per hour.

Chances of rain and thundershowers in Uttar Pradesh till August 17

Monsoon has gained momentum in Uttar Pradesh. It is raining continuously in most parts of the state. It rained in many districts of the state including Lucknow on Sunday. There is a possibility of rain on Monday as well. According to the Meteorological Department, by 9 am on August 12, there may be heavy rain in Deoria, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Barabanki, Saharanpur, Shamli, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Pilibhit, Badaun and other surrounding districts. IMD has predicted that by August 17, there will be thundershowers in most districts of the state. There may be heavy rain at some places.

Yellow alert for heavy rain in Himachal till 17th

Heavy rainfall is occurring in all the districts of Himachal Pradesh. It has been raining continuously in most parts of the state for the last 24 hours. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in all parts of the state till August 17. Today, a cloud burst in Chaupal of Shimla district, 200 boxes of apples kept in the warehouse and more than 800 apple plants were washed away. According to the information received from the State Emergency Operation Center, traffic has been disrupted on a total of 137 roads in the state. Electricity problem has arisen due to disruption of 24 transformers. Apart from this, people may have to face drinking water crisis due to disruption of 56 drinking water schemes.

Torrential rain continues in the hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir

There was heavy rain in the hilly areas of Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. Due to continuous rain for several hours, it became difficult for the people to live in the villages on the river bank. Due to rain and landslides, debris fell on the roads due to which traffic was blocked. This rain came as a boon for the farmers. Farmers are hopeful that this time the yield of paddy will be more and the quality will also be better.
