On Wednesday, it rained in Uttarakhand from hilly areas to plains. The entire Uttarakhand was drenched due to pre-monsoon rain. This has brought down the temperature. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a special forecast for Uttarakhand and warned of heavy rain till July 3.

Also, there is a possibility of monsoon arriving in some parts of Uttarakhand on 28-29 June. Director of Meteorological Center Dr. Bikram Singh said that 51 mm rain fell in Jolly Grant of Dehradun, 6.6 mm in Dehradun, 4 mm in Pantnagar, 2.2 mm in Tehri, 6.5 mm in Nainital. Strong winds also blew in the plains.

He said that an orange alert has been issued for heavy rains from June 27 to 29 and July 2-3. While a yellow alert has been issued for June 30 and July 1. People should be cautious during heavy rains.

Last year, the monsoon reached Uttarakhand on 23 June. This time it is running late. The department has predicted the arrival of monsoon on 28 or 29 June. However, the Meteorological Department says that these are the normal dates for the arrival of monsoon. On the other hand, 34-year-old Sachin, son of Naresh Singh, died while working in the field due to lightning in Magarsada village of Sitarganj on Wednesday morning.

Heavy rain in Dehradun, river overflows in Rishikesh

The pre-monsoon rain in Dehradun on Wednesday brought relief from the humidity that was continuing for the last two days. The temperature dropped by 3.9 degrees in Doon due to the half an hour of rain on Wednesday afternoon. While the temperature in Doon was 37.9 degrees on Tuesday, it was 34 degrees on Wednesday. The rain started at around 12:30 in the afternoon, which continued for about half an hour.

In Dehradun, Sahastradhara, Canal Road, Jolly Grant, Parade Ground area received heavy rain. While other areas also received good rain. Jolly Grant received 51 mm of rain. The temperature was 32 degrees in the afternoon, but as soon as it rained, the temperature dropped to 23 degrees. The wind also blew at a speed of 13 km per hour. Humidity remained at 100.

Many vehicles got stuck due to the surge in Kharasrot river.

Due to the change in weather and the heavy rain on Wednesday afternoon, the Kharasrot seasonal river located at Muni Ki Reti got flooded. Due to the sudden flood of water from the mountain, a dozen vehicles standing in the river got stuck. There was a commotion when three vehicles started floating in the river. The local people immediately informed the police about it. A joint team along with the SDRF immediately reached the spot. The vehicles floating in the river were stopped with great difficulty at a distance of 10 meters from the Ganga. The vehicles stuck in the water were taken out one by one with great difficulty.
