Indian Railways has a rule regarding this and there is also a provision to impose a fine on those who do not follow this rule. Therefore, one should avoid traveling with a waiting ticket. So let us know how much fine can be imposed on you if you travel by train with a waiting train ticket.
Actually, if you want to travel by train, you need a confirmed train ticket. Apart from this, if you have an RAC train ticket, you can still travel by train, but traveling with a waiting ticket is prohibited.
If you have booked a train ticket online, then as per the rules, this ticket gets automatically cancelled from the railway portal. You do not have to cancel it separately. Whereas, if you have bought a train ticket from the ticket counter, then this ticket does not get cancelled.
