Delhi To Srinagar: The overnight journey, which will cover a distance of over 800 km, will be completed in less than 13 hours. Passengers will board the train in Delhi at 7:00 PM and reach Srinagar at 8:00 AM, making it a good alternative to air travel.
The train has three classes – AC First Class, AC 2 Tier, and AC 3 Tier – with fares ranging between ₹2,000 to ₹3,000. Advanced sleeper facilities and modern facilities will be available to provide maximum comfort during the journey.
The Kashmir Rail Link, which is part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, will be operational by the first week of January 2025. After this one can travel directly from Delhi to Srinagar without any hindrance. Union Minister Jitinder Singh gave this information to ‘X’. “The train from Delhi to Kashmir will start in the first week of January 2025,” he wrote. The service is expected to be launched with the high-speed Vande Bharat sleeper train, which will revolutionize connectivity in the region.

Major stops on the Delhi to Srinagar route include Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jammu Tawi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. The project will boost tourism, improve trade and improve connectivity between Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of the country.
The USBRL project, a challenging engineering feat, involves the construction of state-of-the-art bridges and tunnels through difficult terrain. Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh while talking to Financial Express said, “There is not much time left to complete the 272 km long Kashmir rail link. Its 255 km stretch has already been commissioned, while the 17 km stretch between Katra and Reasi is expected to be completed by December 2024.
