Vande Bharat sleeper train delayed

There may be a delay in the Vande Bharat sleeper train. Actually, there has been a dispute between the railways and the Russian company TMH regarding the design. The railways want some changes in the final design of Vande Bharat. At the same time, the company making it says that doing so may increase the cost and there may be a delay in completing the project.

Dispute stuck in the toilet

A deal of Rs 55,000 crore was signed between Russian company TMH and Railways for Vande Bharat sleeper trains, but even after 14 months of finalizing the deal, the design of the sleeper coach version of Vande Bharat train has not been finalized. In fact, Railways wants additional toilets in every coach of Vande Bharat sleeper train, a pantry car in every train set and space for luggage in every coach.

TMH’s CEO Kirill Lipa says that due to the change in design, the entire layout of the coach will be affected. The coach’s windows, seats and other designs will have to be re-made. This will take more time as well as cost. On the other hand, the railway’s argument is that the technical changes in the design are being demanded to be made as part of the deal contract.

When will the train arrive?

TMH says that if the Indian Railways does not resolve this dispute soon, then the delay in the project will keep increasing. He said that we want to start the production as soon as possible. He said that if all goes well, the prototype of the sleeper version of Vande Bharat will be available in the second quarter of next year.
