A big news related to Indian Railways has come out. Vande Bharat Sleeper Train has left its factory and is now ready for trial. Actually, the first prototype of the much-awaited Vande Bharat Sleeper Train of the Railways has left from ICF Chennai for RDSO’s field trial.
This new train has been designed in collaboration with BEML and Integral Coach Factory (ICF), and was undergoing quality and standard check process at ICF for the last two months.
Better facility than Rajdhani Express
The Times of India quoted railway sources as saying that the Vande Bharat Sleeper train will provide a better travel experience than the premium Rajdhani Express. This train is capable of running at a top speed of 160 kmph and a high average speed, which will make night travel more convenient.
Testing will be done on Khajuraho-Mahabo section
According to the report, the prototype of the Vande Bharat sleeper train will be thoroughly tested by the RDSO on the Khajuraho to Mahabo section of the Indian Railways. It will be launched for the general public only after getting the safety clearance.

Recently in the Rajya Sabha, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had told that Vande Bharat Sleeper trains have been designed for long and medium distance travel, and modern facilities have been included in them.

Earlier, regarding medium distance Vande Bharat train services, Vaishnav said that as of December 2, 136 Vande Bharat train services with ‘chair-car’ coaches are operating in the Indian Railways network. He said that out of these, 16 Vande Bharat Express services are meeting the needs of stations located in Tamil Nadu. The minister said that the longest distance Vande Bharat train is running between Delhi and Varanasi, covering a distance of 771 km.
