Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express: A South Eastern Railway official said on Wednesday (May 17) that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express on Thursday (May 18).
He told that Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will also be present in the program at Puri station. Vande Bharat Express will be flagged off from Puri Railway Station itself.
According to a South Eastern Railway official, the Howrah-Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will be flagged off virtually from Puri at around 1 pm on Thursday. This is the second Vande Bharat Express to be received by West Bengal after the Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express.
500 kilometer distance covered in about six and a half hours
The Vande Bharat Express train will cover the distance of 500 kilometers between Howrah and Puri in about six and a half hours. According to travel agents, this will make it easier for travelers to reach Puri, the abode of Lord Jagannath, Bengal and especially Kolkata and its surrounding tourist and beach resorts.
Regular operations start from May 20
The official said that the regular operation of 22895/22896 Howrah-Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will start from Saturday (May 20). He said that the train will run 6 days a week except Thursday. The train will leave Howrah at 6.10 am and reach Puri at 12.35 pm and in return it will leave Puri at 1.50 pm and reach Howrah at 8.30 pm.
South Eastern Railway official told that this train with 16 coaches will stop at Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Khurda Road.
