Where those who pay double the charge in cash will be able to make payment through UPI from Wednesday. But this does not mean that those who pay cash will be stopped. Along with cash, the option of UPI payment will also be given.

Service on trial mode

NHAI officials say that here it can also be called starting on trial mode. Because, on starting UPI payment at this toll, it will also be studied whether it is taking more time to make the payment. So that there are no long queues of vehicles at the toll plaza. However, in the study so far, it is believed that making payment through UPI will take less time than cash, but how much less or more. All this feedback will be available only after its launch.

What is NHAI’s preparation?

NHAI says that with all these feedbacks, the option of paying with UPI will soon be started at all toll plazas in the country. How long will it take to start this? In response to this, the officials say that this work will start soon. For this, QR code will be given at all toll plazas. Which will be in the name of the company running that toll.

What fraud happened in UP?

This will also prevent the big fraud that came in the system of paying toll in cash in Uttar Pradesh recently. In which the toll plaza people had downloaded fake software in the name of NHAI in their system. With this, the double toll that they used to take as a penalty from vehicles without fastag.

All of that used to go to their account, NHAI was not able to get its share. But UPI payment will also prevent such fraud. Recently, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament also came and investigated the Kherki Daula toll. Its report is yet to come. Problems like jams also keep coming up again and again at this toll.
