Free Aadhaar Card Update Deadline Extended: This is a very important news for Aadhaar users. UIDAI has once again extended the deadline for updating Aadhaar card for free. Earlier its deadline was ending on 14 June 2024, which has now been extended by three months to 14 September 2024. Now Aadhaar cardholders can get Aadhaar updated online for free till 14 September 2024.

It is worth noting that according to the information given on the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the organization issuing Aadhaar, now Aadhaar users can get Aadhaar updated for free till 14 September 2024. Aadhaar card is a very important ID which is used for availing government schemes, opening bank accounts, booking travel tickets and travel etc. It contains demographic details of every person like name, gender, address, age and biometric information etc. Due to the increasing importance of Aadhaar, it is very important to keep it updated.

Make sure to update your 10 year old Aadhaar
UIDAI has advised all citizens that if their Aadhaar is 10 years or older, they should get it updated as soon as possible. To update demographic details, you will have to upload the required documents. Keep in mind that the facility of updating Aadhaar for free is available only online. On the other hand, you will have to pay a fee if you go to the Aadhaar center and update the details.
How to update details in online Aadhaar-
- For this, first of all you should visit the official website of UIDAI, the organization issuing Aadhaar, https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ .
- Login here by entering OTP using your mobile number.
- Next check all your details like address etc.
- If you need to change any details like address for example then select that option.
- Go ahead and upload the required document proof to correct that detail.
- After this click on the submit button.
- After completion of this process, you will get a 14-digit Update Request Number (URN) through which you can track the Aadhaar update process.
