UIDAI has extended the deadline for Aadhaar update, now you can complete the work by this date

Aadhaar Free Update deadline extended: Aadhaar Card is an important document. Aadhaar Card is used as ID proof in government or non-government work. In such a situation, it is important that all the information given in the Aadhaar card is correct.

For this reason, the Aadhaar card issuing agency i.e. UIDAI had provided the facility of updating Aadhaar card for free.

UIDAI had fixed 14 September 2024 (Saturday) for this. Now this date has been extended. Aadhaar users can now get Aadhaar updated for free till 14 December. Free update can be done only online. This means that update fee will have to be paid for offline update. We are going to tell you how you can update Aadhaar card online.

How to update Aadhaar card online (Aadhaar Card Update Process)

  • First of all you have to visit the official website of UIDAI.
  • Now log in using your Aadhaar number and registered mobile number. To log in, you will have to enter the OTP received on your mobile.
  • After this, go to the ‘Aadhaar Update’ option and check your profile.
  • Now select the details you want to update.
  • After this, tick the checkbox ‘I verify that the above details are correct’ in the dropdown menu.
  • Now upload all the documents related to Aadhaar update and submit.

How much charge will have to be paid for updating Aadhaar (Aadhaar Updation Charge)
After December 14, you will have to pay a charge even for updating Aadhaar online. However, you will have to pay an update fee for updating Aadhaar card offline. According to UIDAI, a charge of Rs 50 is levied for updating Aadhaar card.

Aadhaar users can update address proof, date of birth and name etc. online. Biometric and photo updates will be done offline only.
