The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is going to change its work permit rules. In order to provide a better working environment to the workers and to promote economic activities in the country, the Federal National Council Committee (FNC) has now recommended to extend the work permit period.
Till now UAE issues work permit only for two years. This period will now be increased to three years. Indians will benefit the most from this step of UAE. About 34 lakh Indians work in UAE. By increasing the duration of the work permit, the cost of renewing it will also be saved. It has to be renewed immediately only after the validity of the work permit expires, because if it does not happen, it is considered a legal offense.
It is illegal to work in the UAE without a work permit. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization provides foreign workers with the necessary documents to enter the UAE. Work Permit A work permit is issued only after the permission of the Federal National Council. Now the Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee of FNC has recommended to extend the work permit period.
Apart from this, the committee has also made another important recommendation. The committee has said that an employee who has completed the probationary term with a company should get a chance to work with the company for further 12 months.
Fee not charged on change of job
The committee has suggested that if the employee who came on work permit changes the job, then the work permit charge to be recovered from him should also be abolished. The UAE government wants to reform the labor market. That’s why she is now simplifying the processes related to business and employees. Along with protecting the interests of the workers, the government is engaged in creating such an environment, which will facilitate the businesses to achieve their goals.
