Due to the expensive recharge plans, taking the plan repeatedly becomes very expensive. Many people take a new plan as soon as their recharge ends thinking that their number may be disconnected. Let us tell you about the new TRAI rules related to the validity of SIM card (Sim Card Active rule).

Most people do not know about the validity of their SIM and hence get it recharged repeatedly. In such a situation, a big problem arises for those who use two SIM cards.

Recently, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued some rules related to SIM cards. TRAI’s new rules have given a big relief to mobile users. Even if your mobile recharge plan has expired, now you will not need to recharge immediately. Your SIM card will remain active for several months without any recharge plan.

TRAI rules for Jio users

If you use a Jio SIM, you can keep your SIM active for 90 days without recharging. If you do not have a recharge plan, the incoming service on your number will remain active for 90 days. However, you will not be able to avail the outgoing service without recharge. To keep the SIM active after 90 days, you will have to take a plan with a validity of Rs 99. If you do not take this plan, your number will be disconnected.

TRAI rule for Airtel

If you use Airtel SIM then note that without recharging, you can keep your Airtel SIM card active for only 60 days. After 60 days you will have to take a plan with validity of Rs 45. In this too, you will be able to avail only incoming service for 60 days.

TRAI’s rule for Vi

If you use Vi SIM, let us tell you that you can keep your SIM card active for 90 days without a recharge plan. After this, you will have to take a plan of Rs 49 to keep the SIM active.

TRAI’s rule for BSNL is that

you can keep the SIM card of the government company BSNL active for maximum days without any recharge plan. In this you get a validity of 180 days. This means that after the recharge plan ends, the incoming service will remain active on your number for 180 days.
