Keeping in mind the Maha Kumbh that is going to start in the month of January next year, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken this big decision. The devotees who will come to Maha Kumbh in their own vehicles will not need to pay toll at the toll plaza. Let us tell you at which toll plazas the government has made the toll tax free.

Toll free at toll plazas of Prayagraj

The Uttar Pradesh government has made a big announcement for the devotees for the Maha Kumbh to be held in January next year. The government, in collaboration with the National Highway Authority of India, has made all the seven toll plazas entering Prayagraj toll free. Let us tell you that this decision of the government will remain in force till the entire Maha Kumbh. That is, any devotee who comes to Prayagraj to participate in the Maha Kumbh for 45 days will not have to pay toll.

  1. Umapur Toll Plaza on Chitrakoot Highway
  2. Mauaima Toll on Ayodhya Highway
  3. Andhiyari Toll on Lucknow Highway
  4. Mungari Toll on Mirzapur Road
  5. Handia Toll on Varanasi Road
  6. Kokhraj toll on Kanpur road
  7. Handia Toll on Varanasi Road

These vehicles will have to pay toll

The Uttar Pradesh government has made toll tax free for devotees coming to Maha Kumbh. Officials organizing the Maha Kumbh Mela say that about 55 percent of devotees will come in their own vehicles. That is why toll has been made free for Maha Kumbh. Let us tell you that when Kumbh Mela was organized in the year 2019, toll was made free even then. During Maha Kumbh, toll tax will not be taken from any private or commercial vehicle like jeep or car. But during this time toll tax will be taken from heavy commercial vehicles. Vehicles carrying cement, sand, iron rods or any other kind of goods will have to pay toll tax.
