UP Toll Free: On the request of the UP government, the Center and NHAI have decided to make 7 toll booths in the state free. No money will be taken from the drivers at these toll booths for the entire 45 days. Its purpose is to provide convenience to the devotees coming to Maha Kumbh.
If you also have a car, then one thing that will bother you the most is toll tax. The better the highways and expressways are being built in the country, the more toll tax you have to pay. But, there is good news for those who travel to and from UP. The Yogi Adityanath government of UP will soon make 7 toll booths in the state free and not a single penny will be charged from those who pass through them. These 7 toll booths are from different districts, through which thousands of vehicles pass daily. It is clear that the pockets of those who pass through these booths will not be empty now.
The UP government is going to take this decision in view of the Maha Kumbh starting in Prayagraj from January. The UP government has announced that during the Maha Kumbh, all toll booths leading to Prayagraj will be made free. Tax will not be collected at any toll booth entering Prayagraj. NHAI has also started preparations for this. It is estimated that crores of people will come to this year’s Maha Kumbh. In such a situation, making the toll booth free will be a great relief.
Tax will not be taken for 45 days
According to the information received from the UP government, Maha Kumbh will run for 45 days and during this time 7 toll plazas of UP will be completely free. Toll free entry at these booths will start on 13 January and will continue till 26 February. That is, if you enter Prayagraj within these dates, then from whichever side you go, you will not have to pay toll tax. It is estimated that about 40 crore people can participate in this year’s Maha Kumbh.
Which tolls will be free?
The 7 toll booths entering Prayagraj have been built in different directions and districts. These include Handia toll plaza on Varanasi road, Andhiyari toll plaza on Lucknow highway, Umapur toll plaza on Chitrakoot road, Ganne toll plaza on Rewa highway, Mungeri toll plaza on Mirzapur road, Mauaima toll plaza on Ayodhya highway, which will be tax free. No toll will be taken from the travellers here.
Which vehicles will get the facility?
Not all vehicles will be given free entry at the 7 booths which will be made toll free during Maha Kumbh. NHAI says that only personal vehicles will be allowed free entry. Commercial vehicles carrying goods will have to pay toll. Toll will be collected from vehicles carrying steel bars, sand, cement and electronics. The central government has taken the decision to make the toll booths free on the request of the UP government.
