Bundelkhand Expressway: Traveling on the Bundelkhand Expressway passing through 7 districts of Uttar Pradesh can now be expensive. This 296 km long expressway was started last year.
The name of the toll tax company has been finalized in the 84th board meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEDA). Now you may have to pay toll ranging from Rs 600 to Rs 3900 at 6 toll points on the expressway . However, the toll rate has not been officially announced yet.
According to media reports, for the first time on January 24, tenders were sought for toll tax. But due to the condition of Rs 100 crore, only one company took part in it. Till May 24, a total of 9 tenders were taken out to increase the stake of the companies. Along with this, the condition of Rs 100 crore was relaxed. Then three companies took part.
Toll will increase by 10% every year on Bundelkhand Expressway
Indradeep Construction Company, the highest bidder, was approved for handing over the work of collecting toll tax. To collect toll, 6 toll plazas and 7 ramp plazas have been prepared on the expressway. UPEDA will increase the toll tender by 10 per cent every year. That means every year vehicles will also have to pay more toll.
The company that collects toll tax has been entrusted with the responsibility of security and monitoring of the expressway. Soon 6 ambulances and 12 petrol vehicles will be patrolling day and night on the expressway. For the last one year, passengers were traveling without paying toll. But now after the completion of the tender process, vehicles here will have to pay toll tax.
Bundelkhand Expressway was inaugurated by PM Modi
Let us tell you that the length of this expressway passing through 7 districts of Bundelkhand Expressway UP, Banda, Hamirpur, Jhansi, Mahoba, Jalaun, Auraiya and Kanpur is 296 km. It was inaugurated by the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 16 July 2022 from Pathari village of Jalaun. This is the 13th expressway of the state. Along with this, UP got the title of the state with the maximum number of expressways in the country.

Separate toll tax has been fixed for five categories of vehicles on the Bundelkhand Expressway. These rates of toll are approximate. Hence they can be changed. Normal trucks and heavy machinery vehicles used in construction will have to pay around Rs 3,000 and vehicles larger than 7 axles will have to pay around Rs 3,900. Toll rates can be around Rs 950 for passenger buses and around Rs 600 for four wheelers like cars etc.
