Lucknow. After the scorching heat in June, monsoon has been pouring heavily in Uttar Pradesh since July. The situation is such that due to the rain in the mountains and Nepal, many rivers of the state are in spate.

More than 4 lakh population of 16 districts of the state are in the grip of floods. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted good rainfall in the state for the next 4 days. Along with this, a warning of heavy rain and thunderstorm has been issued in many districts of Terai and Purvanchal.

According to the Meteorological Department, good rain can be seen in the Terai areas of the state on Monday. Apart from this, warning of thunderstorm along with rain has been issued in Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi as well as Gorakhpur, Basti, Kushinagar, Siddharthnagar etc. The Meteorological Department has predicted that there may be heavy to very heavy rain in these districts. Also, people have been asked to remain alert.

Yellow alert for rain in these districts

According to the weather department’s forecast, there is a possibility of good rain in Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Kabir Nagar, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti and surrounding areas on Monday. At the same time, lightning warning has been issued in Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Mirzapur, Varanasi along with Gorakhpur, Basti, Kushinagar etc. districts, it is worth noting that the rain warning will also increase difficulties in flood-affected areas. The situation is likely to worsen especially in Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Kushinagar, Gonda, Balrampur and Shravasti.
