Many banks including Mumbai-based Reserve Bank of India (RBI), HDFC Bank and ICICI have been threatened with bombs. The threat given through email states that RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman should resign from their posts.
The threatening email said that bombs had been planted at 11 places. After receiving the threat, the police launched a search operation, although no suspicious material was found anywhere. MRA Marg Police Station has registered the case and started investigation.

The person making the threat has alleged that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das have committed the biggest scam in history. It was also said in the email that the bomb blasts would take place at 1.30 pm.
According to the report, it was written in the threatening email, ‘We have planted 11 bombs at different places in Mumbai. RBI along with private sector banks has committed the biggest scam in the history of India. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman are involved in this scam. Apart from this, some well-known ministers and officials of India are also a part of it. We also have enough evidence for this.
This email further said, we demand the immediate resignation of the RBI Governor and the Finance Minister. They should leave their posts after giving full details of the scam. Apart from this, other people involved in this loss should also resign. They should be punished. If our demands are not met by 1.30 pm, all the bombs will explode. A case has been registered on the complaint of RBI head guard Sanjay Harishchandra Pawar. According to the information, the threatening mail came at 2 pm on Tuesday.
