Now petrol and diesel will not be available at petrol pumps in Una district of Himachal Pradesh without a helmet and suitable number plate. Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority and District Magistrate Jatin Lal has issued orders in this regard. According to the orders, petrol will not be given to two-wheeler drivers without a helmet.

Apart from this, there will be a ban on fueling any vehicle without a number plate. This order has been issued to all petrol pump operators of the district under the Disaster Management Act 2005. It has been told that this step has been taken in view of law and order and road safety of the people. In fact, the Una administration has also banned the sale of petrol and diesel in open containers, bottles or other unauthorized packaging. Petrol pump operators have been instructed to immediately inform the local police about any suspicious behavior of any person at the petrol pump. Apart from this, administrative orders will also have to be followed from the point of view of cleanliness at the petrol pumps.

The petrol pump operators under the District Disaster Management Authority have also been instructed to strictly follow this order. Not only this, instructions have also been given to ensure cleanliness and facilities. Cleaning and maintenance of public toilets at petrol pumps should be done regularly. This facility is free for the general public and in case of any complaint regarding any kind of restriction or locking of washrooms, strict action will be taken by the district administration.

DC Jatin Lal said that this decision has been taken under the public safety. This will not only instill the habit of wearing helmets among the people, but will also help in curbing those who are committing criminal activities in the district by using vehicles without number plates. The DC said that the common people can register these complaints on the district administration’s helpline toll free number 1077.

DC Jatin Lal has made it clear that if these orders are violated, strict action will be taken under the Disaster Management Act 2005. He appealed to the petrol pump operators to follow these instructions seriously for safety and public convenience so that the possibility of any danger can be eliminated in the district and law and order can be maintained.

Similar arrangement in Kangra too

Earlier, such a system was also created in Kangra of the state but later it failed, even the current SP of Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi was posted in Kangra and he took this initiative. However, now this initiative has died.
