Tata Group took control of loss-making Air India in January 2022. Earlier this year, Air India had placed an order for 470 aircraft with Airbus and Boeing for $70 billion (based on published price list). The order includes 190 Boeing 737 MAX narrowbody planes, 20 Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 10 Boeing 777X.
