Stock Market Holiday: Stock markets will remain closed on the occasion of Independence Day, banks will also not work

78th Independence Day (Independence Day 2024) will be celebrated on 15th August. There will be no trading in the stock market on this occasion. There will be no trading in the main index of the market i.e.

Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) tomorrow. Even all segments i.e. equity, equity derivatives section and securities lending and borrowing (SLB) will remain closed.

According to the Stock Market Holiday List, the stock market remains closed on national festivals. Independence Day is a national festival, so the market will remain closed tomorrow.

Commodity market will remain closed

\The commodity market will remain closed for the entire day tomorrow, i.e. 15th August. Let us tell you that along with the commodity derivatives segment and electronic gold receipts (EGR) segment on BSE, all bullion, metal and energy derivatives are traded on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited. Both the sessions of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), i.e. morning and evening sessions will also remain closed.

The stock market and multi commodity exchange will open at the scheduled time on August 16 (Friday).

Banks will also remain closed

According to the Bank Holiday List released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), all banks will be closed on 15 August 2024 due to Independence Day. However, the bank will remain open on 16 August and 17 August. This means that it is not a long weekend. Despite the bank being closed, the customer can use services like net banking, online banking, ATM.
