The Uttar Pradesh government has declared a public holiday in the state on October 11 on the occasion of ‘Navmi’. A senior official gave this information here on Thursday. According to the information, all government offices and other establishments will remain closed on October 11.

Gram Director Shishir said in a statement, “Taking note of the demand of various organizations, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday directed to declare October 11 as a public holiday except essential services on the occasion of Navmi.” Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh said that all schools under the Basic Education Department will remain closed across the state. The minister posted this information on his ‘X’.

He said, “Under the leadership and inspiration of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, integrated efforts are being made to empower half the population in the state. On the auspicious occasion of Mahanavami, a holiday will be observed in all the schools under the Basic Education Department in Uttar Pradesh.” The minister also wished everyone a Happy Mahanavami.

Earlier, there was a holiday only on 13 October.

Due to the confusion about Navdurga Ashtami and Mahanavami, the government had declared Mahanavami holiday on Saturday, 12 October. However, Navami is on 11 October. In such a situation, different employee organizations were pleading with the government. In such a situation, now people in the state have got three days off. After the announcement of the holiday by the Yogi government, all the employees have expressed their gratitude to Yogi Adityanath.

The secretariat employees were the first to demand a holiday on the occasion of Ramvanami on 11 October from the Yogi government. Apart from this, according to the gazette issued by the government, there will be a three-day holiday on Diwali as well. There will be a public holiday on 31 October Diwali, 1 November Govardhan Puja and 2 Bhaiya Dooj and Chitragupta Jayanti.
