Uttar Pradesh

Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has recently declared Diwali holiday on 31 October. After this, schools will remain closed on 2 and 3 November as well. Meanwhile, schools will open on Friday, November 1 and there is a holiday on 2 again for Govardhan Puja. Teachers are angry about this, while students and parents are also worried.

Actually, festivals are falling continuously from 30 October to 3 November. Because of this, not only basic but many universities have also declared holiday from 30 October to 3 November. But secondary schools are open on 1 November. However, Kartik Amavasya is falling on this day. Teachers and parents say that due to the opening of schools for one day in between, those who go out will not be able to go home even on Diwali.

Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu government has declared a holiday on 31 October and 1 November in all the schools and colleges of the state, after which all the schools and colleges of the state will remain closed for four days. The state government has issued a statement saying that this year to celebrate Diwali on 31 October, keeping in mind the convenience of the students, teachers, parents and government officials returning to their hometowns, 1 November is declared a holiday.

At the same time, there will be a four-day holiday on 2-3 November due to Saturday-Sunday. However, an order has been given to declare 9 November as a working day to compensate for the holiday of 2 November.

Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh

Schools in Rajasthan are closed from 27 October to 7 November on the occasion of Diwali. At the same time, there will be a holiday in the schools of Madhya Pradesh on 31 October and 1 November 2024, while schools will remain closed for four days due to Saturday and Sunday.

Bihar

The Bihar government has announced holidays in schools in view of Diwali and then Chhath Puja. This year, schools will remain closed in Bihar from 6 November to 9 November for Chhath Puja.

Karnataka

The Karnataka government has declared Diwali holiday on 31 October in all schools and colleges. Apart from this, Karnataka Rajotsava will be celebrated on 1 November. Therefore, schools will remain closed in the state from 31 October to 3 November. Diwali auspicious time is on 31 October In the year 2024, Diwali will be celebrated on 31 October.

The festival of Diwali is celebrated on the Amavasya date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. This time Kartik Amavasya date will start on 31 October at 3:52 pm and the date will end on 1 November at 6:16 pm. In such a situation, according to the date of Amavasya, some scholars or pundits are saying that celebrating Deepawali on 31 October is right. Diwali festival is of five days. This year Diwali will start with Dhanteras on 29 October and end with Bhai Dooj on 3 November.
