The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in various parts of the country including Delhi NCR in the next 24 to 48 hours. The Meteorological Department said that a new western disturbance is forming in northwest India between January 10 and 12.
Due to this, rain may occur in many areas of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi on the 10th and 11th. In South India, heavy rain has also been predicted in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal as well as Kerala from January 12.
Meanwhile, in view of the cold and fog in Punjab, the Punjab Child Rights Commission has written a letter to all government and private schools to change the timings, in which it has been said that in the past, it has been seen that many school buses have been victims of accidents due to fog, due to which they have also suffered heavy losses. Therefore, the timings of all government and private schools should be fixed at 10:00 am by January 31.
Meanwhile, a holiday has been declared in schools in Mansa district on Saturday, January 18. In this regard, District Magistrate Kulwant Singh said that it has come to the notice of the District Education Officer that the entrance examination for class 6 is being conducted in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya on January 18, 2025 from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm. Exercising the powers vested in him under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, the District Magistrate has declared a one-day holiday (only for the students of the schools) in the schools designated for this examination.
He said that this examination will be held in Government Secondary School (Girls) Budhlada, Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) Budhlada, Government Secondary School (Boys) Bareta, Government Secondary School (Girls) Bareta, Government Secondary School Jhunir, Government Secondary School Bhamme Kalan, Government Secondary School (Girls) Sardulgarh, Government Secondary School (Boys) Sardulgarh, Government Secondary School (Girls) Mansa and Government Secondary School (Boys) Mansa.
