School Time Change: Govt changed the school timings due to heat, classes will start early from April 2

School Time Change: The Odisha government on Wednesday announced a change in school timings in view of the heat that has been prevailing in the state for the past few weeks. This was already being expected.

The Odisha government has said that morning classes will start in all schools from April 2. Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari informed the media about this. He said that school examinations will end on March 27 and after that classes will start from April 2.

Anganwadi centers will be operational from seven in the morning till nine in the morning
Suresh Pujari said that during summer, Anganwadi centres will also operate from 7 am to 9 am. Temperatures have started rising above normal in many places across the state a month in advance. He said, “People of districts like Boudh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Bolangir and Sundargarh are facing intense heat. At the same time, there is humid weather in the coastal region as well. Keeping in mind the current situation, we have issued instructions to various departments and district magistrates to take advance steps to deal with the scorching heat.”

Instructions given to avoid power cuts

Pujari said, “More than 330 people have died due to heat in the last 10 years. We have instructed the officials to take steps to curb heat-related deaths.” He said the electricity department has been instructed to avoid power cuts between 11 am and 3 pm and 9 pm and 6 am.

The maximum temperature in Bolangir city was 41.1 degrees Celsius
In the last 24 hours, Bolangir city in western Odisha recorded a maximum temperature of 41.1 degrees Celsius, which was the hottest place in the state.
