School holidays extended in these states, know when they will open

Schools Closed: Due to the scorching heat, it has been decided to extend the summer vacation of schools in many states. The summer holidays were about to end in these states but due to the scorching heat and heat wave, the schools will be closed for now.

Severe heat continues in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana and even Goa, so the educational authorities have taken this step to prioritize the safety of the students.

Tamil Nadu schools closed till June 10

Due to the intense heat wave across the country, authorities in Tamil Nadu have decided to extend the summer holidays for schools. The School Education Department has announced the date of reopening of schools to be changed from June 6 to June 10. Tamil Nadu Director of School Education G. Arivoli has confirmed that the decision covers all educational institutions, including government, aided and private schools.

Schools will not open till June 11 in Telangana and Puducherry too

Telangana has announced the reopening of schools on June 12 for the 2024-25 academic year after summer vacations. Similarly, the Union Territory of Puducherry, which includes areas such as Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam, has extended the date for reopening of schools from June 6 to June 12 due to the scorching heat. Director of School Education P. Priyadarshini stressed that the decision applies to all government, privately managed and CBSE-affiliated schools. Rising temperatures in Puducherry, as well as less rainfall, have worsened the situation, leaving residents facing scorching heat.

Schools closed again in Bihar

The Bihar government has decided to close the schools due to the scorching heat. This decision was taken after the health of the girl students deteriorated and they fainted in many schools last Wednesday. On Wednesday, about 50 girl students fainted due to heat in the schools of Begusarai and Sheikhpura, many of whom had to be admitted to the hospital. Due to the scorching heat, CM Nitish Kumar has issued instructions to close the schools. It has been decided to keep the schools closed from 30 May to 08 June 2024.
