School Holiday: For some reason, schools and colleges are having holidays in a row in the month of February. Now, once again, holidays will be coming for educational institutions and employees on February 26. February 26 will be a public holiday on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. The Telangana government has already issued a notification to this effect.
In AP too, all government and private schools and offices in the state have been declared holiday in observance of Maha Shivaratri.

The 14th day of every lunar month or the day before the new moon is called Shivaratri. Of the 12 Shivaratris in the calendar year, Shivaratri, which falls in the months of February-March, has spiritual significance. Mahashivratri is an important festival celebrated by Hindus. This festival is celebrated on the fourteenth night of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Phalguna. It is celebrated with great pomp all over India. All schools and colleges remain closed on this day.
