School Holiday: Big update: Dussehra holidays declared, schools will remain closed for so many days

Dussehra Holiday: School students from 1st to 12th have got a big relief. Actually, schools will be closed for 10 days in Orissa. Orders have been issued for this.

A notice has been issued in the School and Mass Education Department, requesting the District Education Officer and Block Education Officers to take necessary steps in this regard.

In view of the upcoming Durga Puja, the state government has announced closure of schools from October 20 to 29. Also, schools will remain closed in Orissa today due to Mahalaya. In such a situation, schools will be opened only after October 29. Parents can contact school authorities regarding school closing and opening.

Orisa: Announcement of closure of schools from 20 to 29 October

A notice has been issued by the Directorate of Secondary Education and the Directorate of Elementary Education informing about the closure of Orissa schools from October 20 to 29 for Durga Puja. Schools will now operate again on 30 October 2023. Instructions have been given to the District Education Officer and Block Education Officers to take steps in this regard. In such a situation, schools will remain closed on 14 October 2023 due to Mahalaya. Whereas in Orissa, Dussehra holiday will be from 20th to 29th October. After this, the operation of schools will start once again from October 30.

Let us tell you that Mahalaya marks the beginning of Durga Puja. Considering it an auspicious day, the arrival of Goddess Durga is celebrated in Bengal, Orissa, Assam, Tripura. In such a situation, instructions were given to keep the schools closed. The festival of Durga Puja will be celebrated till October 25 due to the ninth day of Navratri and Dussehra on the tenth day.

Telangana: Schools will be closed for 13 days

Earlier, announcement for Dussehra holidays was made by Telangana government. Holidays declared for more than 10 days in Telangana schools and colleges. The state government has announced closure of government and private schools including colleges and other organizations due to Dussehra. Orders have also been issued for this. Schools will be closed for a total of 13 days in Telangana.

Chhattisgarh: 6 days holidays declared

Here, Chhattisgarh government has also declared 6 days holidays during Dussehra. In such a situation, holidays will be declared in schools from 6 pujas. Classes will be started once again from October 25. Students from class 1 to 12 will get significant benefits.

At present, orders for Dussehra holiday have not been issued in the capital Delhi and other states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand. It is believed that Dussehra holidays can be extended for three to four days in these states. In such a situation, there is a possibility of declaring holiday in these schools from Saptami. Orders in this regard will soon be issued by the Education Department.
