heavy rains have been pounding several parts of north India for past few days, leading to land slides in many hill states and most rivers, including the Yamuna in Delhi, in spate. In many cities, including Delhi and Gurgaon, waterlogging led to traffic woes. Railway services have also been hit.

Uttarakhand

Haridwar district administration has ordered the closure of all schools from class 1-12 from July 10-17, in view of the Kanwar Mela. “In view of the Kanwar Mela, the district administration has decided to close all the schools and Anganwadi centres from July 10 to 17,” said District Magistrate Dheeraj Garbyal.

Holiday in Ghaziabad schools till July 15

In view of the Meteorological Department’s warning regarding rain, the District Magistrate of Ghaziabad has ordered all the schools in the district to be closed till July 15.

Work from home appeal in Gurugram

The Gurugram district administration has also issued an advisory urging all corporate offices and private institutions to ask their employees to work from home on July 10. So that traffic congestion can be avoided.
