The Patna Meteorological Center has predicted a severe heatwave in South Bihar for the next 48 hours. A red alert has also been issued by the Meteorological Department regarding this.
According to the issued alert, there are chances of heat wave in Patna, Gaya, Nalanda and Sheikhpura even at night. Apart from these areas, there is a possibility of severe heat wave in East Champaran, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Banka, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Khagaria, Jamui for the next 02 days.
Schools closed in Patna
In view of the scorching heat in the capital Patna, an order has been issued to keep government and private schools from nursery to 12th in the entire district closed till June 24. Apart from schools, Anganwadi centers will also remain closed till June 24. Please tell that the order related to this has been issued by DM Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh on Friday night.
Patna DM said that there is a possibility of adverse effect on the health and life of the children due to the high temperature in the district and especially in the afternoon due to the scorching heat. In view of this, this step has been taken by the administration.

Rakesh Kumar, scientist of Patna Meteorological Center, told that these days there is a heavy rain in the state. As a result of this, there is a possibility of severe heat wave in districts like Purnia and Katihar on Saturday and Sunday. The presence of monsoon is still not visible in many districts.
However, according to the forecast, thundershowers are expected at some places in Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa and Madhepura during the next 48 hours.
Relief will be available from June 19.
