School Closed: Schools will remain closed in UP and Maharashtra today. In UP, the reason is bad weather, while in Maharashtra it is the festival of Eid-e-Milad.
Starting with UP, in view of the heavy rain warning issued by the Meteorological Department, holidays have been declared for schools from class 1 to 8 in many districts including Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Bahraich, Chitrakoot, Hamirpur. The Meteorological Department has predicted that due to Yagi cyclone, there may be heavy rain in the state for two-three days. Orders to keep the schools closed have been issued by the District Magistrates.
The holiday order issued by the District Magistrates will be applicable to all council and recognized schools. All the block education officers of the districts have been instructed to strictly follow the order. It has been raining intermittently in Pratapgarh since morning.

Heavy rain forecast in 20 districts
The Meteorological Department has predicted torrential rains in more than 20 districts of the state due to Yagi cyclone. Due to heavy rains, 50 villages of Purvanchal are in the grip of floods.
Holiday in schools in Maharashtra too
There is a holiday in the schools of Maharashtra from 16th September. There is a holiday here on Eid-e-Milad. Due to which all the schools and colleges are closed. The state government has extended the holiday from 16th September to 18th September due to Ganesh Visarjan.
