Jalandhar has declared a holiday on February 11 in connection with the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji. Apart from this, February 12 will be a holiday in the entire Punjab.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal has declared a holiday in all government/non-government schools/colleges within the district limits due to the Shobha Yatra to be taken out in Jalandhar district on February 11.

The orders also state that the holiday orders will not be applicable to the concerned classes of those schools/colleges where board/university examinations are to be held on the said date.

Keeping in mind the religious sentiments of the people and the convenience and safety of school and college students, Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal has declared a holiday in all government and non-government schools and colleges falling within the limits of Jalandhar district on February 11. The Deputy Commissioner has said in the orders that these orders will not be applicable to the concerned classes of those schools and colleges where board and university examinations are to be held on the said date.

Meanwhile, District Magistrate Jalandhar Dr. Himanshu Agarwal, in view of the Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji on February 12 and the Shobha Yatra being taken out by various religious organizations on February 11 in this regard, keeping in mind the religious sentiments of the people and exercising the powers vested in him under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code, 2023 to maintain the law and order situation, has ordered that meat and liquor shops be closed on February 11 and 12, 2025, along the route of the Shobha Yatra and near the place of the religious function during the said event in Jalandhar district.
