School Holidays: All government and private schools in Telangana will remain closed on February 26 and 27 on the occasion of Mahashivratri. This holiday will apply to all educational institutions across the state.
This will allow students and staff to participate in the festival. Apart from this, the Election Commission (ECI) has announced the schedule for MLC elections in Andhra Pradesh. Voting will be held on February 27 and counting of votes will be held on March 3. Schools and colleges in the election-bound districts including East and West Godavari, Krishna-Guntur, Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram and Visakhapatnam will also remain closed on February 27 to facilitate the voting process.
Government offices, businesses and schools will also remain closed in the areas where elections are being held. This is so that maximum voters can exercise their franchise. This holiday is part of the Election Commission’s initiative to ensure a more democratic electoral process. Voters can get freedom to exercise their right. Apart from this, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is in effect. Election officers have been appointed for strictness.
Mahashivratri is an important Hindu festival
Lord Shiva is worshipped on Mahashivratri. Mahashivratri is an important Hindu festival. It falls on the 13th night and 14th day of the lunar month of Phalguna. On this occasion, devotees observe fast, pray and visit temples. Offices, businesses and schools remain closed in many states. On this day, Shiva processions are taken out in some states. Devotees arrive in various forms in it. Shiva processions start from the temple and travel around the city.
