You may remember that the Modi government had launched the Jan Dhan Yojana to provide bank accounts to every person and so far, accounts of about 50 crore people have been opened.

On the same lines, now the government has launched the Jan Nivesh Yojana to provide access to investment to every person. Under this, there is a plan to connect maximum people of the country with Mutual Funds and SIP.

SBI has launched Jannivesh SIP. It will be launched on February 17, i.e. today, by SEBI Chairperson Madhavi Puri Buch and SBI Chairman CS Shetty. Its aim is to make investment accessible to every individual. Apart from SBI, other mutual fund houses will also launch similar investment options. SBI has launched this scheme to further the journey of developed India, in which there will be an option to invest with a small amount.

What is special about it?

The most special thing about SBI’s Jannivesh SIP is that it is made for everyone. In this, SIP can be started with a minimum amount of just Rs 250. Currently, one had to start investing in Mutual Funds from a minimum of Rs 500. Apart from the street vendors of the country, this step is also being taken to connect the working class with Mutual Funds.

How much fund can be created?…

If one starts an SIP of Rs 250 per month on the birth of a daughter and invests in it continuously for 25 years. During this time, if an average return of 12 percent is obtained, then only Rs 75 thousand will be invested in the entire period and Rs 4,74,409 will be received in return. In this, you will get about Rs 4 lakh as interest only.

Why only mutual funds?

After all, why does the government want to provide access to mutual funds to the poor and the working class? The answer is the strong performance of mutual funds in the last 20 years. This investment option has given 15 to 20 times returns in the last 2 decades. In contrast, options like FD and PPF have given only 4 to 5 times returns during this period.
