Samsung Strike: Strike has started in Samsung India’s plant. Due to this, the company’s production has stopped. This strike has taken place in Sriperumbudur plant located near Chennai in Tamil Nadu.

Hundreds of employees have stopped work by putting up tents outside the plant. These employees of Samsung Electronics are demanding that their salary be increased. The company’s production is being affected by this strike. On Tuesday, this strike entered the second day. If it is not resolved soon, the company may face a supply crisis.

Samsung has two plants in India

South Korea’s giant electronics company Samsung has two plants in India. India is a major market for them. Citing sources, Business Standard has claimed that about 30 percent of Samsung’s India business revenue comes from this plant in South India. This is a major plant for their business in India. Samsung’s annual revenue in India is about $12 billion. Samsung has given employment to about 1800 people in this plant. Here it manufactures refrigerators, washing machines and TVs.

The strike began on Monday

Union leader E Muthukumar said that the strike started on Monday. It is continuing on Tuesday as well. We want better wages, working hours and union recognition. He has claimed that almost half the production has been affected due to this strike. Samsung India is currently silent on this strike. The company spokesperson said that we are in constant touch with the employees. The company follows all the rules and laws. Also, it is ready to solve all the problems of the employees.

There was also a strike in South Korea

Recently, in July and August, the South Korea union of Samsung Electronics also went on strike for several days. Now they are thinking afresh about their next plan. No agreement has been reached between the employee union and the management yet. The employees have put up posters of indefinite strike outside the Sriperumbudur plant. The company’s second big plant is located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Smartphones are manufactured here.
