Salary Hike: There is good news for the roadways contract workers of UP. The salary of contract drivers of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has been increased, orders have also been issued in this regard by the Managing Director.

There will be an increase in the salaries of employees from December and 30 to 35 thousand employees of the state will benefit from it.

New rates will be applicable from December 1

According to the order issued by the corporation administration, the salary which till now was Rs 1.75 per kilometer was given to the contract workers, now they will get an increase of 14 paise to Rs 1.89 paise per kilometre. The new rates will be applicable from December 1, 2023.

With this, the remuneration of contract workers will increase by Rs 700 to Rs 1000 per month. Normal drivers and conductors have to cover a distance of 5500 kilometers in a month, now with the increase of 14 paise per kilometer, they will get Rs 700 to 800 more. Excellent category drivers and conductors will now get Rs 933 more. The payment will increase as the number of kilometers operated by the bus increases.

There has been no change in the current remuneration rates of urban services in Noida area which are Rs 2.18 paise per kilometre. Similarly, contract drivers working in rural services of Noida region and Kaushambi, Sahibabad and Loni depots under NCR region, contract drivers working in rural services of all the depots established under NCR region, contract drivers of Sonauli, Siddharthnagar and Maharajganj depots near the international border of Gorakhpur region. And there has been no change in the remuneration rates of contract workers of suburban services. Like before, they will be paid at the rate of Rs 2.18 per kilometer.

Revision in the rates of Excellent and Uttam Incentive Scheme also

Apart from this, the rates of Uttam and Uttam Incentive Scheme have also been revised by the Transport Corporation Administration. Transport Corporation has ordered to give benefits to drivers for two years and conductors for four years of continuous service under the Uttam and Uttrakash Incentive Scheme.

In the Uttam and Uttam Incentive Scheme, it has been ordered to give benefits to drivers for two years and conductors for four years of continuous service. For Uttam Yojana, 24 days duty and 6000 kilometers of bus operation is required and for Uttam scheme, 22 days duty and 5000 kilometers of bus operation in a month is required, rest of the service conditions remain the same.

  • The new excellent incentive scheme includes two years of continuous service for drivers, four years of continuous service for conductors, 288 days of duty and completion of 78,000 kilometers in the financial year, no accident in the financial year, remuneration Rs 12,593, incentive Rs 7000. Will be payable i.e. a total of Rs 19,593 will be available under the New Excellent Incentive Scheme.
  • The Naveen Uttam Incentive Scheme also includes two years of continuous service for drivers, four years of continuous service for conductors, 288 days of duty and completion of 66,000 kilometers in the financial year, no accident in the financial year, remuneration of Rs 12,593, incentive of ₹ 4000 will be payable i.e. a total of Rs 16,593 will be available under the Naveen Uttam Incentive Scheme.
  • Contract drivers will be paid Rs 1000 till December 2023 for accident-free bus operation. In case of an accident in any month, he will be removed from this scheme for the next one year and will be given kilometer based remuneration. After being selected in the scheme, one will have to do 24 days duty and operate buses for 6000 kilometers in a month.
