Salary Hike: Government increased DA by 4 percent, 6 months arrears allowance will be given in 3 installments

State employees will get increased salary from August. Actually, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced to increase the dearness allowance (DA) of the state employees.

With the increase of 4 percent in the dearness allowance to the state employees, the government will give the arrears of allowance for 6 months from January till now in 3 installments. More than 7 lakh employees of the state will get benefited. Let us tell you that by the end of this year, assembly elections are to be held in Madhya Pradesh.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Friday that his government, like the Centre, will give 42 per cent dearness allowance (DA) to its employees with retrospective effect from January 1. Till now the government was giving 38 per cent dearness allowance to the employees, but now with a 4 per cent increase, the total dearness allowance will be 42 per cent. This will increase the salary of the employees.

The Chief Minister said in a tweet that we have taken many revolutionary steps in the interest of the employees. Now, we have decided to give 42 per cent DA like the Center from January. Officials said that more than seven lakh government employees will be benefited by increasing the dearness allowance.

The dearness allowance hike has been implemented from January. Therefore, the outstanding dearness allowance of 6 months will be given to the employees in three instalments. The Chief Minister said that under the sixth pay scale, all employees will also see a proportionate increase in DA. The CM said that the employees who have completed 35 years of service till July 1 this year, will be given a pay scale hike for the fourth time.

The decision to increase the allowance in view of the elections

has been taken by the BJP government of Madhya Pradesh to increase the dearness allowance of the employees at a time when all the legislative elections are round the corner. In view of the elections to be held by the end of the year, the Congress has promised to give the benefits of the old pension scheme to the employees if they win the elections.
