Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court ordered the state government .A big update has come regarding the retirement age of the teaching staff of Lucknow University. The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has directed the state government to increase the retirement age of these employees.
Retirement age should be increased from 62 years to 65 years. That is, after the implementation of this instruction, the retirement age of the teaching staff of Lucknow University will increase by 3 years.

The counsel for the petitioners argued that the Central Government has already decided that the retirement age of the teaching staff of higher and technical educational institutions funded by the Center should be increased to 65 years. Subsequently, the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2010 directed all universities to implement the Centre’s decision. The petitioners argued that the UGC’s instructions apply to Lucknow University as well.
