If you have a ration card then this news is very important for you. The government has extended the deadline for e-KYC to March 15. Earlier this work was done only through e-POS machines at ration shops, but now you can do e-KYC from your mobile sitting at home.
How to do e-KYC from home?
The government has launched the ‘Mera e-KYC’ mobile app for the convenience of the citizens. With the help of this app, you can complete e-KYC for yourself and all your family members without going to the ration shop.

With the help of these apps, you can do instant e-KYC using face authentication technology.
Why has e-KYC been made mandatory?
The government provides ration (wheat, rice, sugar etc.) to poor families at cheap rates under the Public Distribution System (PDS), but some ineligible people were also taking advantage of this scheme. Now the government has made e-KYC mandatory to prevent fraud. This will ensure that only genuine and eligible people will get ration.
What will happen if e-KYC is not done?
➤ Ration may be stopped.
➤ Name may be removed from the government list.
➤ Government will recover the money from ineligible people.
➤ If ration card is not surrendered voluntarily, then recovery will be done along with interest.
The government has prepared a list of ineligible government employees and an order has also been issued to deduct the salary from their salary. If you are not eligible and still availing the benefits of the ration scheme, then soon a notice may come to your door.
Do e-KYC soon, otherwise ration may be stopped
With this new system of the government, poor and needy families will get ration in the right manner and fraud will be curbed. If you have not done e-KYC yet, then complete it before March 15. You can easily do this work through a mobile app at a ration shop or at home.
