The names of ten thousand people who were taking advantage of free ration despite being ineligible have been removed from the eligibility list. In place of these people, the names of eligible people who were troubled due to not getting ration card till now have been added to the eligibility list. More than 20 lakh people were being given the benefit of free ration in Ghaziabad district.

30 thousand people found ineligible during verification

When the government verified the beneficiaries, it was found that 30 thousand people were ineligible. Instructions were given to verify these ineligible people at the district level.

After verification by the District Supply Department, the names of ten thousand people have been removed from the ration card. The verification is still going on, so by the end of this month, the names of many other people will also be removed from the list of beneficiaries.

Ration card will be cancelled even if e-KYC is not done

It has been made mandatory for all ration card holders in the district to get e-KYC done. So far only 63 percent people have got e-KYC done. Those who have not got e-KYC done are being made aware to get e-KYC done through ration dealers, if e-KYC is not done soon then their ration card will be cancelled.

Regarding this, District Supply Officer Amit Tiwari said that during verification, ration cards of those ration card holders who are found ineligible for the scheme are being cancelled. The verification work is still going on.

What is the last date for e-KYC?

The government has given relief to ration card holders. Now card holders will be able to get e-KYC done till December. Earlier this deadline was till September. You can easily complete your ration card KYC online using your Aadhar card and linked mobile number. There is no need to visit official government offices for this.

How to do online KYC

  • Collect the required documents.
  • Make sure you have your Aadhaar card, mobile number linked with Aadhaar and Aadhaar cards of all family members.
  • Visit the official website of Food Department.
  • After this find the eKYC option and click on it.
  • Enter your Ration card number and 12 digit Aadhaar number.
  • Verify OTP- An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP to verify your identity.
