According to the report of Economic Time, the work on the 17 kilometer route has been completed. At the same time, work has also been completed at all five stations and it is being planned to run this month itself. There will be five stations Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai Depot on the 17 kilometer rapid rail.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate

This part is part of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project. Officials of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), which is overseeing the development of the rapid rail service, said that the security clearance has been received from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) last week. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon flag off this train.

What will be the speed of rapid rail

The speed of this train running till Duhai Depot is expected to be 160 kmph. This will be the first railway system in the country, which is being opened for operation in its entire length at such a fast pace.

How far work on the rest of the routes

According to ET’s report, the 42 km long bridge from Sahibabad to Meerut South station has also been completed. An official said that the 25 km long section after Duhai depot would be started after this. There are four stations Muradnagar, Modinagar South, Modinagar North and Meerut South.

Till when the rapid rail will run on the entire route

The work of making rapid rail was started in June 2019. An official said that the commissioning of the entire 82.15 km long corridor with metro services in Meerut has been fixed in June 2025. It will be prepared at an estimated cost of 30,274 crores. RRTS is funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB), Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and New Development Bank (NDB).

So many passengers will travel

It has been estimated by the government that 800,000 passengers will travel every day. However, despite such a huge crowd, the revenue from the passenger is expected to remain disrupted. Along with the rent, many more challenges can come up.
