Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot made a big announcement regarding the old pension scheme while presenting the budget. Presenting the budget, Ashok Gehlot said that the old pension scheme (OPS) will also be restored for the employees of boards and corporations in the state. Gehlot made this announcement while presenting the budget for the financial year 2023-24 in the state assembly.

Employees benefit

Ashok Gehlot had announced to restore the old pension scheme for state government employees in last year’s budget. Extending this, Gehlot has now announced the benefits of the old pension scheme to the employees of state government boards, corporations, academies and universities. He said that this would benefit more than one lakh employees. Please inform that assembly elections are also going to be held in Rajasthan at the end of this year.

PM Modi said that some states are adopting the old pension scheme back. On this issue, PM Narendra Modi, during his Rajya Sabha address on Thursday, warned the states of the economic crisis in the neighboring countries. In a possible reference to the old pension scheme, PM Modi said that political parties should think about its steps and should not play with the future of the country’s children. He said that states should be financially disciplined.

The decision taken by these states

is noteworthy that the governments of five states Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh have informed the Center about their decision to withdraw the old pension scheme. These states have again adopted the old pension scheme.
