Rainfall High Alert! IMD has issued an alert of rain, snowfall and hail between January 10 and 12

The weather in the country is ready to change once again. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of rain, snowfall and hailstorm between 10 and 12 January. Changes in the weather will be seen from the plains of North-West India to the Himalayan regions.

An active Western Disturbance from January 10 to 12 will affect the weather of North-West India. Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh are expected to receive rain and lightning on January 11. Uttarakhand may receive rain on January 11 and 12, while hailstorms are expected in Rajasthan.

An alert has been issued for rain and snowfall in the western Himalayas. At the same time, there may be light rain in the plains. Apart from this, dense fog will persist in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh till January 10.

Two cyclonic circulations are active in South India. The first circulation is in South-East Bay of Bengal and the second is in North Tamil Nadu. Due to these, there is a possibility of thunderstorms in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on January 11 and 12. Light to moderate rains may occur in Kerala and Mahe on January 12.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in all these areas and has appealed to the people to remain cautious. Traffic may be affected, and caution has been advised while driving due to poor visibility.
