There are three classes of coaches in the train

People book their tickets in different coaches of the train such as sleeper, third ac, second ac and first ac class according to their convenience and budget. But many times it happens that people have to cancel their travel due to some reason. In such a situation, the biggest question comes in the mind of the people that if they cancel their ticket then how much refund they will get and in how many days their refund money will come back.

Tickets can be canceled from the reservation counter

According to the information received from the website of IRCTC, the online ticket booking service of the Railways, I-tickets can be canceled from any computerized reservation counter across the country. However, you will not be given any cash refund if you cancel over the counter. Service charge is also non-refundable. Refund will be credited online to your account the next day of cancellation

How much is the cancellation charge

If your ticket is RAC then cancellation charge of Rs 60 will be levied on its cancellation. On the other hand, if you cancel the confirmed ticket before 48 hours of departure of the train from the scheduled station, then the cancellation charge for First AC / Executive Class is Rs 240, for Second AC Class Rs 200, for Third AC / AC Chair Car / AC 3 Rs. A cancellation charge of Rs 180 for economy, Rs 120 for sleeper class and Rs 60 for second class will have to be paid.

This much charge will have to be paid for 12 hours from 48 hours

On the other hand, if you cancel your ticket 48 hours to 12 hours before the departure of the train from the scheduled station, then you will have to pay a cancellation charge of up to 25 percent of the ticket price. On the other hand, up to 50 percent of the charge is deducted for canceling the ticket before four hours to 12 hours. The refund amount will be credited to your bank account within 3 to 5 working days.
