Indian Railways has reduced the time limit for ticket booking, and after November 1, 2024, advance booking of train tickets can be done only for 60 days. Not only this, the day of travel will also be included in the 60 days of the time limit.

People who live away from home for work or studies in big cities also feel like returning home, and at such times Indian Railways is their biggest support. In our country, thousands and lakhs of people live away from their homes, and want to book train tickets to return home during holidays, for which the Railways had provided the facility of booking tickets 120 days in advance. Now the time limit for ticket booking has been reduced to 60 days.

According to the release, Indian Railways has reduced the time limit for ticket booking, and after November 1, 2024, advance booking of train tickets can be done only for 60 days. Not only this, the day of travel will also be included in the 60 days of the time limit.

According to the Railways, this changed rule will not affect tickets booked till October 31, 2024, however, cancellation of bookings made beyond 60 days ARP will be allowed.

According to information provided by Indian Railways, there will be no change in rules in case of some day-time express trains – like Taj Express, Gomti Express etc. – where a shorter time limit for advance reservation is currently applicable. Also, there will be no change in the case of the 365-day limit kept for foreign tourists.
